Physico-Chemical Properties:

1.   Colorless acicular crystal, apt to air-slake, decomposing and releasing hydrogen sulfide at melting point, soluble in water and alcohol.

2.   The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline.

3.   React with acid to produce hydrogen sulfide.

4.   The industrial product is normally orange or yellow solution with a bitter taste.

Usage:

1.   To synthetize organic intermediate and assistant for the preparation of sulfide dye in dyestuff industry.

2.   For unhairing and tanning of raw hide and wastewater treatment in leather industry.

3.   To remove free sulfur in activated carbon desulfurizer in fertilizer industry.

4.   Raw material for manufacturing the semi-finished products of ammonium sulfide and ethanethiol for the use of pesticide.

5.   Extensively used for copper ore dressing in mining industry

6.   For sulphurous acid dyeing, etc. in artificial fiber production.
